2 - Le Tanneur, a French Leather Goods House
The history of our House began in 1898 in the east of France, in Belley. This marked the start of a new century, with France celebrating as was customary during the Belle Époque. The youth were optimistic and self-assured, and trends flowed quickly. This was a golden opportunity for our House, which drew directly from the inimitable French art of living to create its first leather goods. This was quickly followed by the opening of many boutiques, along with the motto of the House: to embody French elegance and to transmit a love for beautiful materials and well-crafted leather goods. 125 years later, these words remain unchanged. Our boutique on Rue de Sèvres stands as a testament to this.
3 - Leather, Our Know-How
We pass on the know-how of the House from generation to generation, and this has been the case for over a century. The story written by Le Tanneur is an inexhaustible source of techniques and inspiration that allows us to create the leather goods of today and imagine those of tomorrow. Whether we are talking about small or large leather goods, all our pieces benefit from this creative approach, which is deeply rooted in the historical craftsmanship of our workshops. Like our predecessors, we ensure that our House is always in tune with its time, its expertise, and its values. This approach is reflected in our Sans-Couture, for example. An iconic wallet that won a silver medal at the Paris World Exposition in 1900. We still produce it today and have even taken the time to offer it in various formats: handbag, clutch, briefcase, and even cardholder. Visit our boutique on Rue de Sèvres to discover this iconic piece, as well as all our other leather goods for men and women.
