OUR BEAUTIFUL MATERIALS
Cuir lisse pleine fleur
Full-grain bullcalf leather brings together suppleness and a very elegant silkiness. This exceptional leather is worked in a width of over 2 mm to highlight its natural grain. It is consistent and uniform to craft a traditional leather goods creation. Full-grain leather is a leather whose surface had remained natural and intact. It is the most noble part of the leather, and that which we favor.
Cuir Taurillon
Full-grain calf leather embossed with a light, heated press. This treatment gives the leather a matte effect that is reserved only for certain of the House’s pieces. Full-grain leather is a leather whose surface has remained intact and natural. It is the most noble part of the leather, and that which we favor.
Cuir signature pleine fleur
This is THE signature leather of our brand. A unique leather established through the know-how and expertise of our leather makers. What makes its singularity? It is made up of an infinite amount of tiny T symbols, embossed on the surface of the leather. The motif, designed by our stylists, is embossed using an exclusive mould for Le Tanneur. A precise setting between temperature and pressure allows us to control the depth of the grain, which will stay the same throughout time. This process is what allows a subtle and light T to appear. A process which delivers a finesse and resistance like no other, even to the effects of time. We are very proud of it !
Toile enduite
Featuring a combination of upside down T's, you will find our print on every piece in the Camille line with its timeless colour palette. It features shades of light brown, black, chalk white, dark brown, or the famous Signature Blue, the same you'll find used for the lining in most of our pieces. So the choice of using L and T to represent Le Tanneur seemed natural. Our initials are usually found on many pieces, embossed discreetly or repeated endlessly, as you will see in our monogrammed canvas, the company's new emblem.
Cuir effet mouillé
Our wet-look leather is the result of real expertise in working with the material and the different textures offered by leather. This material offers a unique elegant appearance, due in particular to the shiny, polished finishes that evoke the captivating appearance of wet leather. The flexible surface resists scratches and won't warp, guaranteeing a long life for your leather goods.
Cuir double-face pleine fleur
This double-sided, full-grain calf leather benefits from a pigmented finish that gives it a highly resistant aspect that endures in the face of aging and external aggressions. The term “double-sided” signifies that the leather is sanded on the flesh side and covered in a leather protection that allows it to be used without a textile lining. The grain side, meanwhile, benefits from a lightly satin effect.
Crossed full grain leather combines robustness and resistance through a crossed and embossed grain. Full grain refers to the most reputable part of the skin where the surface has remained untouched and natural. It is the part we prioritise.
Cuir nubuck
Thanks to a slight sanding process on the surface, nubuck leather possesses a distinct soft, velvety look. It also stands out due to its great flexibility.
Our recycled leather is part of a responsible approach to making the leather goods of tomorrow. Composed of 95% hides and surplus leather carefully selected from tanneries and leather goods manufacturers, these materials are meticulously reworked, transformed and then combined with 5% latex to create a unique, high-quality material. This recycled leather has none of the defects of traditional leather, is scratch-resistant, will not warp and is highly water-resistant, making it easy to care for your leather goods.
